Aerial View from NW
An aerial view of several of the outdoor spaces which greatly compliment the Systems Biotechnology Building. Courtyards between the research wings and a quadrangle to the west with views of the Flatirons offer places for world renowned researchers to re-energize and casually meet with colleagues before solving the research questions of the future.
Aerial View SW
An aerial view of the Systems Biotechnology Building located on the University of Colorado’s east Campus. The overall design concept consists of a “main street” corridor that intersects research “neighborhoods” promoting planned and spontaneous interaction amongst researchers traveling the “main street”.
View of Entry
The front entrance to the System Biotechnology Building, a courtyard framed by one of the large auditoriums to the left and the building café to the right. Students can relax in the sun before class while world recognized researchers discuss an interdisciplinary solution to a complex research question while they drink their coffee or have lunch.
A view of the Bosque.
A view of the Bosque. Located at the entrance to the quadrangle, acts as a gateway, and connecting piece to the future Chemistry building which will mirror the Systems Biotechnology Building. Graduation ceremonies, outdoor seminars or informal celebrations are envisioned in this nicely shaded outdoor space.
View of South East
A sense of arrival is experienced as guests and staff may choose to enter the Systems Biotechnology Building through the covered portico or enjoy a sunny stroll along the front walkway to the main entrance. Research neighborhoods can be seen stepping up from the lower scale auditoriums at the front of the building. The beauty of the Flatirons can be appreciated from the research neighborhoods as they form a backdrop to the University of Colorado’s main campus.
