Building Overview

The Boulder Campus of the University of Colorado (UCB) is planning the construction of a
new research and teaching facility located on the institution’s East Campus.
The overall design concept consists of “research neighborhoods” made up of efficient and
flexible research laboratories, associated laboratory support, offices and collaboration
spaces, all interconnected vertically by multistory spaces and horizontally via a “main street”
corridor to foster interdisciplinary research and collaboration among the 60 senior faculty
researchers and over 500 additional research and support staff. Additional entities include
research cores, auditoriums, conference and seminar rooms, classrooms, computer labs,
café and administrative support spaces.Aerial View NW
