The official groundbreaking for the new Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology building that will be built on the University of Colorado at Boulder's East Campus took place on September 9, 2009. Jennie Smoly Caruthers, a long time CU-Boulder research professor, died of cancer and the building will be named in her honor.
